We Deserve Answers. #JusticeForKesha
On May 24, 2023, Lakesha “Kesha” Thompson was found fatally shot inside the home of her then-fiancé in Riverdale, Georgia. Kesha and her fiancé were the only two people in the room at the time of the shooting.
Her fiancé Nathan Fitten reported that Kesha pulled the trigger herself, and her death was initially ruled a suicide.
But Kesha’s oldest daughter Ondrea Fluker had serious questions about that conclusion and refused to stop seeking answers.
The family hired a private investigator to conduct an independent investigation into Kesha’s death. The investigation uncovered evidence and circumstances that raised significant questions about the original ruling. Information from that investigation was presented to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).
In December 2024, the GBI amended its report, changing the manner of Kesha’s death from “suicide” to “undetermined.”
That change left our family with an even more important question:
If Kesha’s death is undetermined, why are the unanswered questions still unresolved?
We are not asking anyone to prejudge what happened. We are asking for the evidence to be thoroughly examined and for the circumstances surrounding Kesha’s death to receive the attention they deserve.
Kesha was a mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Her family has spent years fighting for answers, and we will not allow her story to be forgotten.
We are asking the appropriate authorities to thoroughly reexamine Kesha’s case, address the unanswered questions, and follow the evidence wherever it leads.
