President Trump just announced a plan to open up over 1.27 billion acres of U.S. coastal waters to new oil and gas drilling—a massive move that would expand fossil fuel production and threaten wildlife, communities, and the climate for generations.

This plan would reverse years of environmental protections and hand over enormous sections of the Arctic Ocean, Gulf of Mexico, and California coast to the oil industry. Even areas where drilling has never been done—home to polar bears, whales, and delicate ecosystems—would be exposed to spills, noise pollution, and long-term habitat destruction.

And this plan comes just as global leaders are urging a phaseout of fossil fuels at the U.N. climate conference. The U.S. isn't even attending this year. Instead, it’s moving to lock in 40+ more years of carbon emissions.

We can’t let this happen.

We’re calling on President Donald Trump, Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, and key members of Congress to:

• Reverse the proposed offshore drilling plan immediately.
• Cancel scheduled lease sales in the Gulf of Mexico and Alaska's Cook Inlet.
• Commit to protecting sensitive coastlines, fisheries, tourism economies, and wildlife from oil exploitation.
• Hold public hearings and release all climate impact assessments for these proposed lease areas.
  

This isn't just about oil. It's about clean air, safe oceans, and a livable climate for the next generation.

We’ve seen what happens when offshore drilling goes wrong. We lived through Deepwater Horizon. We don’t need another disaster—and we don’t need 1 billion more acres of risk.

Tell Trump to cancel this plan before it’s too late.
