I am a citizen of Georgia, and like many others, I am tired of the lack of transparency from our government officials. We vote for these individuals with the hope that they will represent our interests and manage our resources wisely. However, we are often left in the dark about how funds are being used.

In Florida, government officials and programs are required to post updates on their spending. This level of transparency allows citizens to hold their representatives accountable for their financial decisions. Are we really gonna let Florida beat us?!

According to a 2018 study by the U.S. Public Interest Research Group (PIRG), Georgia received a grade of 'D-' when it comes to providing online access to government spending data. This is unacceptable for a state where over 10 million people put their trust in public officials.

We demand that all public government officials who represent us, as well as programs run by the government for us here in Georgia, follow Florida's example by posting monthly updates on their spending. It is time we held our representatives accountable and demanded greater transparency in how our tax dollars are spent.
