The Issue
Living in a vibrant community comes with its challenges, especially when the entity that manages our homes doesn't act in our best interests. I am deeply dissatisfied with how our condominium corporation has consistently suppressed the voice of condo owners, and I know I am not alone in this struggle.
Our community deserves transparency and fairness. It has become an alarming trend for our condominium corporation to execute repair work at inflated costs, refusing to present quotations or alternative cost-effective options to owners. It's frustrating to know that certified contractors could perform the same repairs at significantly lower prices, yet our corporation won't provide the opportunity to explore these alternatives.
Equally troubling is the intimidating practice of threatening to put liens on properties whenever owners raise questions. Such tactics stifle dialogue and create an environment of fear and frustration among residents who just want the best for their homes.
To add insult to injury, our Annual General Meetings (AGMs), now held online, exclude the voices that matter most. Without the ability to speak, condo owners are rendered powerless, unable to express concerns or contribute to meaningful change.
This is not just about my dissatisfaction but about ensuring that everyone in our condo community feels heard and valued. It's time to demand accountability and transparency from our condominium corporation.

1. Provide detailed and transparent quotations for any repair work, allowing condo owners to seek competitive bids from certified contractors.
2. Cease all threats of placing liens on properties of those who simply wish to discuss or dispute charges.
3. Facilitate inclusive AGMs where every condo owner can voice their concerns and participate in decision-making processes.
