Demand transparency and accountability in Central Unified
The Issue
The Central Unified community is rising together to demand what we have been denied for far too long. A district that listens, that respects its people, that is accountable for its decisions. For years, students, families, and educators have shown up to fill out surveys, attend meetings, and speak at board sessions, only to watch our voices be pushed aside behind closed doors. This pattern has created distrust, frustration, and a deep sense that the district is making choices about us, without ever truly hearing from us.
We are calling for a new standard, one built on transparency, honesty, and meaningful collaboration. Central Unified must create real opportunities for open dialogue, use surveys in ways that genuinely reflect community input, and provide clear, timely explanations for decisions that impact thousands of students every single day. Accountability is not optional. It is essential.
Research consistently shows that schools thrive when communities are included. When parents, students, and educators are part of the decision‑making process, trust grows, outcomes improve, and the entire district becomes stronger. Our community deserves that. Our students deserve that. Our families deserve that.
By signing this petition, you are standing for a future where every voice matters. Our goal is to gather over 1,000 signatures and push toward 2,000 to show Central Unified that this community is united, organized, and determined. Together, we can send a message that cannot be ignored. We expect transparency. We expect respect. We expect accountability. And we will not stop until we see real change.
If you are a parent, student, educator, alumni, or community member, please sign and share. Your voice strengthens ours.
