Demand the termination of Danville Walmart employees

Demand the termination of Danville Walmart employees
The Issue
We all know what the symptoms of dementia are. Some of us have family members suffering from it right now. If we do not hold these people accountable, then John's story could as easily be one of ours, one of our friends, or family members. On March 23, 2025, at the Danville, Kentucky Walmart, an unfortunate and heartbreaking incident occurred involving John Hardwick, an elderly dementia patient. Caught in a state of confusion, John was wrongfully accused of shoplifting by Walmart employees. Rather than extending assistance or empathy, the employees, shockingly, took it upon themselves to mock and ridicule John. All on camera.
This incident, already painful, worsened when Danville police officer TJ Godbey arrived on the scene. Rather than defusing the situation or ascertaining the facts, Officer Godbey severely beat John. This distressing event was caught on camera with clear evidence of Walmart employees laughing and provoking the mistreatment. Such actions are not only unprofessional and callous but also a grave injustice against a vulnerable individual who needed help and compassion.
Walmart, a global retail giant, has the responsibility to ensure the safety and dignity of all its patrons, especially those who are most vulnerable. In the face of this incident, however, Walmart has remained silent and inactive, offering neither an apology to John nor any rectification to prevent future occurrences of such injustices. This silence is deafening and unacceptable.
We demand immediate action from Walmart to terminate the employment of those involved in this despicable incident. Additionally, we urge Walmart to implement comprehensive training programs focused on recognizing and assisting individuals with cognitive impairments like dementia. It's crucial to ensure that incidents like John's never happen again.
For the sake of justice, humanity, and with the hope that no other family has to endure such an ordeal, we call for your support. Sign, share, and join us in boycotting Walmart until we see meaningful change. Please. Stand by us, stand by John, and stand for the dignity and respect that everyone deserves.
