Why is Horse Plus Humane Society lying to donors about having an independent audit of their financials? Horse Plus Humane Society does indeed have a CPA filling out 990s for them, however, they are simply using the information provided to them by Jason and Tawnee Preisner. View the attached link that shows 2021 990 for line item #12. The answer is NO to independently audited financials.

*Since the IRS has not released a downloadable copy of the 990, these were obtained. 

*If you wish to view previous years' financials with the same exact declaration of "NO" to independent audit, they are available on the IRS website for review.

Also, as you will see from this attached link, obtaining any seal of transparency from GuideStar has NOTHING to do with audited financials. It's very simple. It's as simple as answering some questions.

Demand they are stopped from continually misleading the public by making false, self-serving statements to the naive public that would not know any better. 

The only thing truthful about their post is that they are currently in good standing with the IRS and the State of Tennessee. WE hope that changes very soon.
