Horse Plus Humane Society has been fraudulently soliciting for monies for years with "save from slaughter" when 90% of better could never be transported across the borders for slaughter. They prey on kindhearted donors thinking equines that the blind, severely emaciated, have contagious diseases, or are lame, will go to slaughter if they are not purchased by them at Cookeville, Tennessee's, Wilson Horse and Mule.

We demand that the relationship between Horse Plus Humane Society, Wilson Horse and Mule,and the ones bringing equines in atrocious shape be investigated for collusion to commit fraud. When Horse Plus Humane Society immediately puts down animals at auction or once at the Hohenwald, Tennessee facility, those animals were never fit for transport to slaughter. However, Horse Plus Humane Society tells donors they are saving them from being brutally slaughtered in Mexico. Fabricated soliciting at its finest to prey on sympathy and panic donations. 

When hundreds of horses have gone missing off the Horse Plus Humane Society page with no follow-up and blocking, banning, and muting those that ask or threatening to ban those that continually ask, this represents a HUGE RED FLAG. When a 501 (C) 3, lacks transparency and fabricates situations for monetary gain, proper investigations should be done by the Tennessee Department of Charitable Solicitations. Also, the Tennessee State Attorney instead of "turning a blind eye" to what is happening in Hohenwald, Tennessee. 

We demand that both the Tennessee Division of Charitable Solicitations and the Tennessee Attorney General, take complaints seriously and do due diligence and investigate. Solicitations based on fabricated situations are against IRS standards for non-profit organizations. We also demand that the IRS work with Tennessee officials and also the State of California, which has given Horse Plus Humane Society a "revoked status" for failure to submit financials, to form a collaborative team to close down the biggest sham/scam rescue organization in the US. 

We demand that the revenue for monitorization of the videos produced at Horse Plus Humane Society be investigated as they have never appeared on 990s. This has been happening since the first production in August of 2019, Horse Rescue Heros. Since that time, there have been Horse Shelter Hero, Horse Adoption Heros, and now, a new veterinarian series featuring the newly hired full-time veterinarian. The media team, including co-founder Jason Preisner's salaries, are paid by donors of Horse Plus Humane Society. However, the profits from those views are not going back into the rescue program. 

We demand the State of Tennessee, and the Department of Charitable Solicitations investigate the conflict-of-interest property transfers between Jason and Tawnee Preisner and the entity of Horse Plus Humane Society. Most notably, the transfer of the Preisner house and just over 3 acres to the entity Horse Plus Humane Society in August of 2022 for $500,000 donor dollars. This house has nothing to do with the rescuing of equines. There have also been other property transfers that the Jason and Tawnee Preisner had a personal interest in which they received monetary compensation. Also, the conflict of interest between the Construction Manager, of Horse Plus Humane Society. also employed as a maintenance man for their privately owned rental homes, now having the perk of living, with his wife, Shelter Manager, in the old Preisner home that the donors paid for. 

We demand that the Tennessee Department of Agriculture and the USDA investigate the state of the equines that are solicited for and brought to Wilson Horse and Mule, for the sole purpose of large financial gains on equines that will only be immediately euthanized. Some equines are down, others have severe injuries, illnesses, and a lot of blind/emaciated ones are all falsely claimed to be headed to slaughter. Why are there no reports on the conditions of equines when there are previous citations of the same auction for exotic sales? It's OK for equines to be left to languish in poor conditions at the auction, arrives in grave conditions and nothing is ever said or done about it? We demand that any relationships or agreements between the Department of Agriculture and both Horse Plus Humane Society and Wilson's Horse and Mule, be carefully considered during any investigation. 

We demand that there be public accountability for the animals killed at Horse Plus Humane Society and the incinerator usage. Horse Plus Humane Society is admitting to more deaths than the original incinerator application allowed. There should be a documented accounting of each, and every animal incinerated on the property and available to the public along with easy access to 990s. The Department of Agriculture requires any catastrophic livestock deaths of 10,000 pounds to be reported. Why has there never been a report of catastrophic deaths at Horse Plus Humane Society for the equines, which are considered livestock in Tennessee? 

We demand full disclosure of exact expenses that are lumped into "operating" and those under "other salaries." How much of the donations are paying for new barns, new vehicles, and property improvement versus actual animal care? How much is going to pay for salaries, which most are office staff and media team in prior years? 

We demand that Horse Plus Humane Society stop using language such as "saved from slaughter" on horses that could/would never be slaughtered at all in the conditions they are purchased. This is fabricated and fraudulent soliciting for the sole purpose of obtaining donations. 

We demand an investigation into the parking lot trader deals in which Horse Plus Humane Society accumulates the sickest, blind, most critical animals from relationships with well know traders only offloading animals they know they cannot sell or ship. 

Horse Plus Humane Society had major issues in California under the name of NorCal Equine Rescue. There was even a Change.org petition against them in California for essentially the same things. Nothing has changed other than the location. 

Equines capable of rehabilitation are euthanized for space. They purchase at auction over and over and kill otherwise healthy animals to make room for the next auction intake. 

If you truly care about equine welfare, you will help demand changes and an investigation into the practices of the Horse Plus Humane Society. Equines should never be held, neglected, and abused just to sell them to Horse Plus Humane Society monthly. Make traders/owners responsible for the barbaric neglect/abuse cases that are seen over and over in Cookeville, Tennessee on nights they attend. 

If you truly care about equines, demand Horse Plus Humane Society be held accountable for the deaths of healthy equines for space while they accumulate more.

If you truly care about equines, demand Horse Plus Humane Society stop euthanizing equines that are capable of rehabilitation because of resources. The balance is not fair to the equines within the financials. Equines will die to pay high salaries, constant upgrades, purchases of property, vehicles/equipment, hotel expenses for bogus slaughter saves and more. Equines are disposable at Horse Plus Humane Society. 

Not that interested in equines. Then think about the companion animals they boast taking in. Many dogs are isolated in horse stalls, thin dogs in stalls with no heat during very frigid temperatures. Dogs barking and begging for attention from the staff. Attention they rarely get since they are more geared to equines. They have very little room so otherwise adoptable dogs/cats are killed solely due to lack of space. The feline room is also not heated. Cats are also euthanized for space since it's a very small room. Just watch the adoption list to see them drop off the page one by one never to be seen or discussed again. Companion animals are also disposable at Horse Plus Humane Society.

2/6/2023 Addition 

We demand that any and all possible involvement between the State of Tennessee Veterinarian and The Department of Agriculture, in encouraging the holding and transportation of debilitated/neglected animals to Cookeville, Tennessee, on the night when Horse Plus Humane Society attends, be fully investigated by the State of Tennessee Attorney General's office. If these other entities are complicit in the pain and suffering of animals, immediate action needs to be taken. If they are complicit in the fraudulent fundraising of Horse Plus Humane Society, actions need to be immediately investigated. 

If this is indeed happening and agreements have been made, this makes other state departments not only complicit in the pain and suffering of animals but also accomplices in the fraudulent soliciting of animals alleged in the "slaughter pipeline" to get more donations.
