Demand the Resignation of South Bend City Council VP Sheila Niezgodski

The Issue

On Monday, May 13th, at the conclusion of a South Bend City Council meeting, South Bend Common Council Vice President Sheila Niezgodski attempted to strike and intimidate a disabled resident and member of the media because she did not agree with his comments during the privilege of the floor. This behavior is unacceptable for an elected official who is supposed to represent and serve all members of our community with respect and integrity. Such actions undermine public trust in our local government and create an unsafe environment for residents to voice their concerns. We demand that Sheila Niezgodski resign from her position immediately. Please sign this petition to hold our leaders accountable and ensure our city council remains a place where every voice can be heard without fear of violence or retribution.

Below you can find footage taken from the victim's point of view (including witness testimony):

At least four South Bend Police Officers and eight other South Bend City Council members witnessed this firsthand. (many residents and members of the public were also in the room to witness the attack.)
