As a concerned member of Tezpur University, I am compelled to speak out against the corruption that is tainting our institution's reputation. At the centre of this issue is our Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Shambhu Nath Singh, who has repeatedly engaged in actions unbecoming of his esteemed position. Our beloved university, known for its commitment to academic excellence and integrity, is suffering under a leadership that prioritizes personal gain over the welfare of students and staff.

Corruption within educational institutions not only undermines the values we cherish, but it also erodes public trust in our education system. It’s been reported by numerous credible sources within and outside the university that Prof. Singh has been involved in financial irregularities and favoritism. Such actions are unacceptable for someone holding such a high office, where transparency and honesty should be the foundational principles.

In light of these revelations, it is imperative that we take a stand. We deserve a Vice-Chancellor who is committed to leading Tezpur University with integrity and fairness—a leader who prioritizes the development of an unbiased academic environment for all students. The continuation of Prof. Singh in his current capacity will only serve to drive our institution further away from these ideals.

We urge the university's governing bodies, as well as the relevant authorities in the Ministry of Education, to investigate these allegations thoroughly and take decisive action. By resigning, Prof. Singh would pave the way for a reformation of our university’s administration and restore the trust of the university community and its stakeholders.
