As a concerned member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary School community, I feel compelled to address a pressing issue that affects the well-being of our students—bullying. Under the leadership of Principal Bibiana Sizelove, there have been numerous instances of bullying that have been mishandled and overlooked to an unacceptable extent.

I have personally witnessed, along with other parents and students, a pattern of negligence in dealing with bullying cases. Rather than creating a safe and nurturing environment, our school's administration has allowed a toxic culture to flourish, leaving students feeling vulnerable and unsupported. The reluctance to address these critical incidents undermines the very foundation of trust and safety a principal is supposed to establish.

Each day that the current leadership remains unchanged, the psychological and emotional damage inflicted on our students deepens. There are specific cases where the lack of appropriate action has led to students experiencing severe mental health issues, which could have been prevented with prompt and effective intervention.

Facts and statistics don't lie: Studies have consistently shown that poor handling of bullying can lead to detrimental effects on students' academic performance, mental health, and overall well-being. It's reported that in schools where bullying is poorly managed, students are more likely to feel anxious, depressed, and disconnected from their peers.

As stewards of our children's education and safety, we cannot stand by and let this continue. It’s time for immediate action. The resignation of Principal Bibiana Sizelove is necessary for the restoration of trust and safety within the school community. Her departure will pave the way for new leadership that prioritizes the welfare of our students and commits to tackling bullying head-on with effective policies and compassion.
