The Issue

The current leader of the Epping Forest District Council (EFDC) should be held accountable for gross negligence and lack of transparency concerning local issues affecting our community. This is a matter close to my heart because the problem of the Bell Hotel has been glaringly overlooked by the council. Despite the serious proceedings surrounding this establishment, there seems to have been a shocking level of inattention from the leader and the council overall.

The Bell Hotel, known for being mismanaged, should have been closed down in 2023, yet inexplicably it remains operative, affecting residents, local businesses, and tarnishing the reputation of our town. This negligence has led to countless issues in our community, including increased local unrest and dissatisfaction amongst citizens who bear the consequences of poor governance.

Effective leadership entails being proactive, responsible, and transparent, traits which are, unfortunately, lacking in the current administration. The leader's failure to address these critical issues demonstrates a need for change. Without accountability, our community will continue to suffer from repeated governance failures.

It’s time for Epping Forest to have leadership that is committed to the welfare of its residents. New leadership would not only address the urgent issues but would also prioritize community interests over individual or political agendas. This change is essential for restoring transparency, trust, and respect in our local government.

Join me in demanding the immediate resignation of the EFDC leader. This action is necessary for the betterment of our community and to ensure a competent and dedicated leadership. Sign the petition today to make your voice heard and bring about the change we desperately need.
