Demand the Removal of Web Filter Blocking Neal.fun in IRSD Schools

The Issue

I am a student in the Indian River School District (IRSD) with a passion for discovery. Through Neal.fun, an educational website, I have made over 300 first discoveries that have enriched my learning experience and fueled my curiosity. However, recently the IRSD has implemented a web filter blocking access to this valuable resource.

The blockage of Neal.fun is not just affecting me but also other students who rely on it for their learning and exploration. The site offers unique interactive experiences that make complex concepts more understandable and engaging. It's not just about fun; it's about education. Neal.fun has many programs that help learn about history to space exploration.

According to a study by Michigan State University, interactive websites like Neal.fun can enhance student engagement and improve academic performance (Michigan State University Study on Interactive Learning). By blocking access to such resources, we are denying our students opportunities for better learning experiences.

We understand the need for internet safety measures in schools. However, blocking educational sites like Neal.fun seems counterproductive to our goal of fostering an engaging and effective learning environment.

We call upon the IRSD school district authorities to reconsider their decision and remove the web filter blocking on Neal.fun. Let us continue our journey of discovery unimpeded! Please sign this petition if you believe in supporting diverse ways of learning.
