I am a resident of Redwood Valley, CA, and have personally experienced the discriminatory practices of the manager at HSIMC Animal Shelter. She trespassed on my property to inspect where I keep my pets in an attempt to deny me adoption rights. When confronted about her actions, she responded aggressively and expelled me from the shelter premises.

This is not an isolated incident. Many members of our community, particularly Native Americans and Latinos, have expressed concerns about this manager's prejudiced judgments. This behavior is not only unethical but also illegal under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act which prohibits discrimination based on race or ethnicity by any program receiving federal assistance (source: U.S Department of Justice).

It is unacceptable that a public service meant to care for animals and facilitate their adoption into loving homes is being tainted by such blatant racism. The management at HSIMC Animal Shelter must be held accountable for their actions.

We demand immediate investigation into these allegations and if found true, swift removal of this manager from her position. We urge all residents who believe in equality and justice to join us in signing this petition so we can ensure fair treatment for all prospective pet owners in our community.
