I've lived in Lane County, OR for years and have always taken pride in our community’s respect for every individual’s freedoms and rights. Recently, however, these values have been overshadowed by the actions of Loveall, an incumbent public servant. His behavior has been increasingly disrespectful, not only towards us, Lane County residents, but also towards his colleagues. He seems to have forgotten that he works for the people, not for himself, and his recent actions necessitate a call to hold him accountable.

There have been numerous occasions where Loveall has brought personal religious beliefs into governmental affairs, which is not only inappropriate but a direct violation of the First Amendment rights that protect us all from the establishment of religion by the state. This behavior is harmful because it jeopardizes the secular nature of our government and risks creating an environment that excludes those of differing or no religious beliefs.

Additionally, Loveall's attitude suggests he perceives himself as above the law. This perception is dangerous as it undermines the rules and regulations that are vital for maintaining fairness and justice within our community. His disregard for these principles is not only concerning but is a direct threat to the integrity and functionality of our local government.

Lane County deserves leadership that respects its residents' rights and embodies the principles of democracy inclusively and respectfully. It's time for a change, and that begins with demanding the removal of Loveall from office. Let’s come together as a community to ensure our voices are heard and our rights protected.
