As passionate fans of Bridgerton, we feel our beloved series has been compromised. Under the guidance of Jess Brownwell, the authenticity, elegance and the dreamy escapism that once took us back to Regency-era England has been sadly disrupted. The disappointing change in the tone of the much-loved show has been particularly noticeable in the third season, which has grown distasteful and strayed from the extraordinary charm of its initial seasons. Characters like Benedict and Cressida, whom we’ve ardently followed, have regressed into unappealing traits they seemed to have outgrown. Even Michael Stirling’s character has been subjected to an unnecessary gender-swap, which is a decision that veers away from the original storyline and will undeniably alter key future plot developments.

Moreover, the accusations of fatphobia leveled against Jess Brownwell, combined with the painful fact that 'Polin' moments were removed, seem to undermine the tremendous work of not only the actors (notably Nicola and Luke) but also all the writers and crew who poured their hearts into crafting these relationships. It's a loss for the fans who were deeply invested in these touching character trajectories.

We firmly believe that a different Showrunner can bring back the magic, the elegance and the scintillating escapism that initially made us fall in love with Bridgerton. Thus, we implore the creators and producers of Bridgerton to reconsider their choice and to replace Jess Brownwell as the Showrunner.
