I am a concerned citizen and relative of state employees, distressed by the deplorable working conditions for our public workers, particularly first responders and corrections officers. Over time, my anxiety has grown as I've seen that in our society, the system seems to prioritize the rights of criminals over the law-abiding citizens and state employees who work tirelessly under unsafe working conditions to keep our state safe. This troubling truth is representative of the leadership of Governor Hochul, who has demonstrated a blatant disregard for the wellbeing of state employees under her watch. 

Statistically, incidents of violence against public workers have been steadily increasing in the past few years, creating an unsafe work environment. Coupled with the unfortunate reality that criminal rights often supersede the rights and protections of our state employees, this forms a situation that is increasingly dire.
