Demand the Removal of All Current HOA Directors in the Northwood Neighborhood

Demand the Removal of All Current HOA Directors in the Northwood Neighborhood
The Issue
We, as homeowners in the Northwood Neighborhood in Commerce, Georgia are distressed by the lack of transparency and apparent mismanagement performed by our Homeowner's Association (HOA) directors. We have been confronted with inexplicable financial acts including the spending of funds not negotiated, add-on assessments not considered, and no access to itemized financial documents or legitimate invoices for completed work.
Our homes, our biggest investments are at stake, as we are faced with ultimatums to pay these sudden, unjustifiable fees or face legal implications including property liens and loss of amenities. Worse, when we try to bring light to these concerns, we are silenced or flatly blocked by the directors, obstructing our right to communicate and share information freely.
- Directors did not show a proposed budget for us to vote on how the spending of funds would be distributed leading to Directors paying themselves along with family members hundreds/thousands of dollars. Reimbursement is permitted (with receipts) however paying family and friends without a vote from the members is not allowed per our bylaws.
- Invoices were requested for work performed as well as licenses from companies hired, however we were presented with non legit invoices and no licensing information was provided.
- There have been documents the HOA has made showing over $10,000 of missing receipts with no explanation.
- Homeowner’s have been silenced and removed on what has been a major form of communication between all.
- Homeowner’s have followed the bylaws to hold a voting meeting and it was refused by the Board specifically the President (KarenAnn Campbell and the Secretary (Angela Griffin). This alone is not allowed per the bylaws and covenants.
- The HOA had stated at our last meeting a fee of $75 be paid to gain more funds to cover the fact the Board had overspent said funds and then raised it and demanded $175 be paid immediately, calling it an assessment, but per a GA State lawyer it was stated this is not a proper assessment they could legally make.
- The outcome of taking away our voices on the platforms we have has made it so a majority of homeowners have been unaware of these occurrences. Thus, the unknowing parties felt they had no choice but to pay any fees tacked on by this Board.
Our plea is clear – remove the current directors of the Northwood Neighborhood HOA in Commerce, GA. Let's either replace them with accountable, transparent, and respectful members who will act in our best interest and uphold the values of our community.
Signing this petition is your vote to support the immediate REMOVAL of the Northwood HOA directors! Thank you!
