As dedicated parents residing at the Mauna Luan, we have always valued this community as a safe and nurturing place for young families. However, this sense of security was profoundly disrupted by a recent unsettling incident in our own community. A non-resident, unfamiliar to our family, was caught recording our five-year-old daughter at the pool, a place that should be a safe haven for all children.

The individual in question had multiple videos of our daughter on his device, a severe breach of our trust and the community's standards of safety. Despite reporting this to security and the police, alarmingly, this person was seen alone at the pool just a day later.

We recognize the vital importance of immediate action in safeguarding our children, a principle strongly advocated by organizations like the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. Quick and decisive responses to any suspicious activities involving children are crucial in preventing further incidents.

Despite our numerous pleas to management to hold an emergency meeting, the Board of the Mauna Luan has yet to take any action. This lack of response is deeply concerning and unacceptable. Therefore, we call for immediate action from the board members of the Mauna Luan. Our demands are twofold: the immediate ban of this individual from our premises, and an urgent revision and strengthening of the House Rules to prevent such violations in the future.

A fellow mother and resident, shares her thoughts:

'Here at Mauna Luan, we are more than just neighbors; we are friends. Our children have grown up together, they attend the same schools, and enjoy community gatherings by the pools. However, a dark shadow has been cast on our Mauna Luan home by a non-resident. This incident has disturbed the peace and trust within our community.'

We implore every resident of the Mauna Luan to stand with us in protecting our community. Your signature on this petition is a stand for the safety and well-being of every child residing or visiting the Mauna Luan. Please sign and help us restore the peace and security of our homes.
