Demand the Immediate Proscription of the IRGC under the Terrorism Act 2000

The Issue

We formally demand that the UK Government ends its policy of "diplomatic review" and immediately designates the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organisation.

The events of 2026 have made the current government’s position untenable. The IRGC is no longer a conventional military force; it is a transnational terror apparatus that has declared war on its own citizens and British interests alike.

Why the UK Government Must Act Now:

The January 2026 Massacre: Following the nationwide uprising, the IRGC orchestrated the single most brutal crackdown in the history of the Islamic Republic. On January 8th & 9th, 2026, during a state-mandated internet blackout, IRGC forces carried out mass executions and lethal attacks on civilians. Independent monitors now estimate a catastrophic death toll of over 30,000 Iranians.
The EU Precedent: On January 29, 2026, the European Union unanimously designated the IRGC as a terrorist organisation, placing it on the same legal footing as Al-Qaeda and ISIS. The UK is now a dangerous outlier, providing a legal and financial loophole for the IRGC that our closest European allies have closed.

Direct Attacks on British Interests: The IRGC’s state-sponsored proxy networks are no longer a regional concern; they are an active threat to British sovereignty. In recent weeks, IRGC-coordinated strikes have directly targeted UK sovereign bases and personnel in the region, including narrowly avoided mass-casualty events at RAF installations.
Terrorism on British Soil: MI5 has confirmed the existence of over 20 lethal plots orchestrated by the IRGC within the UK. By refusing to proscribe the group, the Government is allowing IRGC-linked entities to continue operating, recruiting, and financing terror on British streets.

The Democratic Will has been Ignored:
The House of Commons has already voted in favour of proscription. The Government’s refusal to implement this decision is a rejection of the democratic will and a dereliction of its primary duty: the security of the United Kingdom and its citizens.

We Demand:

Immediate Proscription: Formally designate the IRGC as a terrorist organisation under the Terrorism Act 2000.
Asset Seizure: Freeze all UK-based assets belonging to the IRGC and its front companies.
Expulsion: Close all institutions on British soil that act as recruitment or propaganda hubs for the IRGC.

The time for dithering and delay is over. The IRGC is a terrorist organisation. It is time the UK Government treated them like one.
