I am writing as a lifelong supporter of the Adelaide Crows. My passion for our club runs deep but I am currently embarrassed by our current state, much of which can be credited to our current coach, Matthew Nicks. His decisions and management have the Crows in a position we shouldn't be in, with only a 31% winning rate over his tenure of 5 years!

Nicks has taken our club from the low lows of last place to the high highs of… 10th. 

His selection strategy is consistently off the mark. Take for instances, him taking until round 6 to move Soligo into the midfield. We have seen high potential players like Taylor and Dowling stuck in SANFL while underperforming players like Lachie Murphy, Chayce Jones, Ned McHenry and Brodie Smith are selected to play at AFL level. He dropped Rachele for a tongue-in-cheek jab but he then lets Laird get away with bagging a younger teammate in the media.

Tactically he is useless. Too many times this year our coaching/playing group have allowed our opposition to pile on unanswered goals. His record in close games is terrible, he sits at 5-13-1 when the margin is 6 points or less.

Whether you think Josh Rachele is a talented young player who gets too much hate or a coward who shirks too many contests. Whether you think Lachie Murphy is a useless spud who should go back to working at crowmania or a player who always gives 100% effort. Whether or not you think that Reilly O’Brien’s tap work makes up for his ball use. We can all agree on one thing, a 31% win rate over a 5 year tenure is not good enough. 

We're not asking to win every single game, but we do ask for good judgement. I stand with many dedicated Adelaide Crows supporters, in demanding the Board to reconsider Matthew Nicks' position within our club. Help send our message by signing this petition.
