Demand the Conversion of Military Park Neighborhood into a Secure Subdivision

Demand the Conversion of Military Park Neighborhood into a Secure Subdivision
The Issue
I live in the Military Park neighborhood of Dearborn Heights, MI, a great neighborhood with awesome neighbors that unfortunately is not immune to crime. For residents like myself, it feels like we're constantly living on the edge, vulnerable. Worrying about if our children are going to get hit by speeding vehicles cutting through, or wondering if we’re going to wake up to our car missing or Ransacked. How can we enjoy our homes when we're constantly worrying about the criminal activity being so rampant in our area.
By transforming our neighborhood into a subdivision, we can increase security and form a stronger, more cohesive community. It is a fact that subdivisions benefit from protective measures, such as controlled entrances, which significantly lower crime rates.
Military Park Neighborhood is the only neighborhood in Dearborn Heights that connects to a neighboring city and is NOT a subdivision . There is so many Entrances and exits in this small 7 block neighborhood (20 to be exact) that it makes it easy for crime to thrive. We have the right as citizens to have a safer neighborhood and anything that could help should be done .
Therefore, we ask the Mayor, Chief , City council , and the city's planning and zoning department to consider this proposition seriously. By doing so, they could instill much-needed peace for residents, help foster a safer community , and act as a bulwark against the unwelcome spillage of crime from neighboring cities . Let's come together to change Military Park for the better.
Please sign this petition and join the cause to make our Military Park neighborhood a safer place to live in.
