As a resident of Arvada and a parent to two young children, I am deeply concerned about the state of our local playground at Russell Park. The playground is in dire need of renovation and fails to meet the recreational needs of our community's families. The surface area has deteriorated significantly, posing potential safety hazards for children. Furthermore, all swings are designed for infants, excluding older kids from enjoying them.

The current state of this park is not only disappointing but also distressing as it forces us to drive considerable distances just to find a suitable playground for our children. This sentiment is shared by many families in our neighborhood.

It's time that we demand better for our community and especially for our children who deserve safe and engaging outdoor spaces where they can play and grow. We urge the City of Arvada to prioritize Russell Park's renovation as part its capital maintenance program.
