Ohio's last execution was July 18, 2018. There is currently an unofficial moratorium on executions in the state of Ohio, following a federal judge's ruling stating that Ohio's current execution protocol could cause "severe pain and needless suffering". 

In addition to this, Gov. DeWine of Ohio has recently postponed Elwood's execution. His new execution date is now set for 2023.

While this is great news, the struggle isn't over. An innocent man is still sitting on death row.
