When the England international men's football team plays the risk to women across the country increases.

I have two simple ideas to recognise and begin to adress this 

When England win the football the increase in domestic abuse is 26% which is still a big problem but when they lose the increase is 38%. This means that thousands of women are put at risk. this research comes from Lancaster university.

This means that while we sit there watching the football girlfriends, wives, and partners of abusers fear for their safety.

While I am very aware that football itself is not the cause, I am asking that the government and media organisations that broadcast the football at least recognise the problem.

I have two very simple ideas for the coverage

1. show domestic abuse hotlines - at least at some points during the breaks in play. But if possible have it visible on screen for large periods of time.
2. Have some of the players or popular ex players - that have not been accused of abuse or sexual crimes - talk about the importance of respecting partners and general domestic abuse and violence PSA.

And for the stadiums coverage in england

This does a couple things first of all it respects it as a problem. This makes people more aware of the rise in abuse and violence rates. It also helps the women in these dangerous situations find help and be aware of where to find it. It gives them another reminder that they can find help and there are people out their that care.

Finally, I would just like to say that the game is not the problem but it can be part of a way to help protect those in danger. We can use a catalyst for abuse to help support those in danger and try and change the cultural. Show that it is a problem by recognising it in a more broadcasted way. While still allowing people to enjoy the sport.
