Here is a photo of maintenance work being undertaken at Teddington Lock (16th February 2026).

Even if there was maintenance work starting during the August Bank Holiday weekend and the months of September and October could be dedicated for maintenance. Boat sailings could resume in November and December for "festive" cruises.

The same amount of maintenance work could be done if Thames River Boats operated between April to August, suspended services for maintenance in September and October and resumed in November and December for festive sailings, that would be a much better alternative compared to the current maintenance schedule. 

The issue here is poor infrastructure at Hampton Court Landing Stage and not enough rolling stock - if Thames River Boats had more vessels and the pier at Hampton Court was higher, festive sailings would be feasible - this would cost a lot of money but would make our petition win!
