Police report an arrest related to Barua committing attempted assault, perpetuating fear in our safe and peaceful community. The victim is reported to have confronted Barua about his reckless driving when the attack transpired.

Barua's actions shake our community to its core, acting as a stark reminder of the immigration-related issues we face here in Canada. Increasing conflicts linked to recent immigrant individuals have sparked pressing narratives of crime and violence. As per the Government of Canada's official statistics, while the majority of immigrants contribute positively to our society, about 2% have been involved in criminal activities. The case of Barua stands as an example of this worrying trend.

The responsible authorities must take stronger action to ensure our safety. We insist that Rishabh Barua serves appropriate penalties for his actions, an extension of jail time, and possible deportation. We further request that the government enforce stricter rules on immigrant conduct to prevent such incidents in the future.
