My name Yeah Jin Ni, but our cause is. I'm a resident of George Town, Penang, Malaysia, who looks at the world and can't help but feel its all going wrong. I see so much cruelty, so much harshness, and it affects me deeply. This petition, then, is my outcry seeking change - not for myself, but for all of us. It's a call to shape a world that's kinder, gentler, and more compassionate.

We are calling upon the government to enact stricter laws against all forms of brutality and cruelty - whether animal, environmental, or human. According to the World Health Organization, one in three women worldwide have been subjected to physical or sexual violence in their lifetime, while we sit here and question the rudeness. This level of cruelty is horrifying and must be immediately addressed.

Crimes against animals are also disappointingly frequent. It's haunting to hear the Humane Society International report that tens of thousands of animals are brutally killed every day worldwide under human hands. If this doesn't make us plead for stricter cruelty laws, what will?

Everyday cruelty, invisible though it may be, has a significant impact on our mental health as well. The Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry indicates that children exposed to cruel acts have higher risks of developing serious mental health issues. Now imagine the adverse effects of cruelty on our society, if we don't act right away.

Humanity has a choice - we can continue towards darkness, or we can strive to foster a kinder, gentler world. A world where every life is respected, where kindness is a given, not a luxury. For the sake of our city, our children, our animals, and our environment, I urge everybody reading this to sign the petition and demand stricter laws against acts of cruelty.
