According to credible reports from international organizations such as Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International, over a million Uyghurs have been detained in "re-education camps" since 2017. These individuals are subjected to forced labor, cultural assimilation, mass surveillance, and other severe restrictions on their religious and cultural practices.
