While this incident is under investigation by the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, county staff is unable to comment specifically about any of the circumstances surrounding the incident. I can assure you, however, that members of the Board of Supervisors and county staff are closely monitoring for the outcome of the law enforcement investigation, and will engage the Virginia Department of Transportation, which is responsible for the maintenance of the roads in the area of the incident, as well as other entities to determine what action may be appropriate in the near future.
