Demand Respect and Understanding for Therians in schools

The Issue

As a therian myself, I have experienced firsthand the bullying and misunderstanding that comes with our identity. Therians are individuals who identify as part non-human animal on an integral, personal level. We are either people expressing their 'sonas through cosplay or simply expressing our unique identities as half-human, half-animal beings. Yet, we are continually made to feel inferior and unwelcome in our own schools.

At schools specifically, students have been particularly harsh towards therians. We are made to feel like we don't deserve to exist - a sentiment that is not only hurtful but also deeply unjust. This is not about being different; it's about being ourselves.

Therians are gentle, kind-hearted individuals who contribute positively to their communities just like anyone else. The hate directed towards us for merely being ourselves is undeserved and unnecessary.

It's time for change – it's time for understanding and acceptance of all students regardless of their identities or beliefs. Let us remind the educational institutions of their responsibility to foster an environment where every student feels safe and respected.

We call upon schools to take action against this discrimination by implementing comprehensive anti-bullying policies that protect therians from harassment based on their identity. Furthermore, we urge them to incorporate education about diverse identities including therianthropy into their curriculum so as to promote understanding among students.

By signing this petition you stand with us in saying enough is enough! It’s time for respect and understanding towards all members of the school community irrespective of how they choose to express themselves.
