My life took a terrifying turn when in my own home, in front of my daughter, I experienced an attack by a housing worker whom I had reported. It's a chilling reality that residents like myself, in public housing, are dealing with harassment and assaults, not from unknown criminals, but from workers, property owners, and management thought to be responsible for our safety. I am sharing my story to raise awareness and impel change in our public housing communities. The assailant, Tobias Roberts, should no longer be allowed in public housing.

His presence not only poses a threat to my family but to the entire community that deserves better living conditions free from any fear. Almost 2 million people in the United States rely on public housing (U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, 2024). It's crucial that for each resident, home remains a safe sanctuary.
