This is a story of unnecessary pain and loss. My precious 9 lb. Chiweenie was simply living his life when he was horrifically attacked by a new neighbor's pitbull named Nala. Without any warning or provocation, this vicious dog picked up my small, defenseless pet in its mouth, shaking him relentlessly, causing irreparable damage - injuries so severe that it cost him his life. Throughout this terrifying ordeal, the pitbull's owner watched, nonplussed, as her secondary dog circled me with its retractable leash, rendering me incapacitated, unable to stop the primary attack.

To compound this heart-breaking ordeal, this same owner allowed her second dog to bite my hand and threaten my other dogs, while Nala strived to inflict further harm. We urge our local authorities to not only remove this dangerous pitbull but also prevent her irresponsible owner from having other dogs. Dogs are supposed to be man's best friend, but in this situation, they have been a source of profound grief and horror.

Pitbull attacks have become increasingly common in recent years, with an estimated 66.7% of all fatal dog attacks being committed by pitbulls between 2005 and 2017, according to DogsBite.org. It's one thing to love and protect your pet, but it's another entirely to ignore the evident risks and dangers they pose to others. The owner of Nala has failed to manage these risks, with tragic consequences.

It is a painful and distressing truth that my beloved Chiweenie's life was prematurely ended due to this irresponsible pet ownership.
