The Issue
To: Beyoncé, Ticketmaster, Live Nation & Parkwood Entertainment
We, the loyal Beyhive of Beyoncé, are writing to demand that you take immediate action to remedy the unfair practices surrounding ticket pricing and exchanges for Beyoncé’s upcoming Cowboy Carter tour. The Beyhive Presale gave exclusive access to tickets for Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter tour, administered through Ticketmaster, before tickets were released to the general public or to any other presales. Beyoncé, Ticketmaster, Live Nation & Parkwood Entertainment allowed predatory dynamic pricing to be allowed for Beyoncé’s most loyal fans access through the Beyhive presale code, where Beyoncé’s fans ended up paying inflated prices for tickets that now cost far less. We demand an immediate refund or exchange for tickets at any price (not just same price or more) and refund for VIP tickets.
The Problem:
On presale days for Beyonce’s tour, fans were offered access to tickets that were priced unfairly high due to dynamic pricing, a system that made tickets significantly more expensive with the illusion of limited ticket availability. For example, tickets in the 100’s section were priced at over $1,000 each, with some fans paying up to $1,199 for their seats and were only available for less than 60 seconds before seemingly being purchased, creating a false sense of demand. Now, one month after the Beyhive presale, fans can purchase the very same tickets for under $500 each, a fraction of the price, and second-row floor tickets for as low as $1,012 each, cheaper than they Beyhive paid for 100 level tickets. This discrepancy has left the Beyhive paying significantly more for tickets that are now priced cheaper on the same Ticketmaster platform.
Additionally, Ticketmaster’s current exchange policy only allows for exchanges to tickets of the same price or cheaper. This means that fans who paid top dollar for tickets, such as $1,199 for 100’s section seats, cannot exchange them for better seats (like second-row floor seats priced at $1,012) because the latter are priced lower (see attachments below). This policy is not only unfair but also punishes the loyal fans who paid the most for their tickets. And now forced to be stuck in seats that now go for $300 without the possibility of change unless you purchase VIP tickets for $2795, or front row seats for $1735.

Many fans also faced issues when trying to purchase VIP tickets. In the rush to secure tickets, it was easy to accidentally purchase multiple tickets, especially when two or more people were trying to grab them simultaneously. However, Ticketmaster’s policy does not allow for refunds or exchanges in these cases, and fans are not allowed to resell tickets in any capacity. This has led to further frustration and financial loss for fans who have unintentionally over-purchased or accidentally purchased for wrong date or time.
Our Demands:
Full Refunds for Fans Who Paid Excessive Prices: We demand that all fans who paid inflated prices due to dynamic pricing be offered a full refund for the difference between what they paid and the current price of tickets.
Fair and Flexible Exchange Policy: We call for an updated exchange policy that allows fans who paid more for their tickets to exchange them for better seats or tickets that are now priced lower.
Ticket Refunds for Unintentional Over-Purchases of VIP tickets: Fans who unintentionally purchased multiple VIP tickets due to the rush of the presale process should be allowed to refund or exchange extra VIP tickets without penalties or restrictions.
The Beyhive Deserves Better:
As members of Beyoncé’s loyal Beyhive, we have been with her since the beginning. We have supported her through every phase of her career and have spent countless hours and resources to celebrate her talent. We believe that Beyoncé would not want her most loyal fans, who have followed her for over 25 years, to be taken advantage of by inflated pricing schemes.
We urge Beyoncé, Ticketmaster, Live Nation, and Parkwood Entertainment to take immediate action and address these concerns, ensuring that Beyoncé’s fans are treated with the respect and fairness they deserve. It is time to fix the system and ensure that the Beyhive is not left with the short end of the stick on a tour we have been awaiting since the album’s release. It is unfair that what should be a joyous time has now made many of her fans feeling financially burdened and taken advantage of by a system that should be taking care of us. I strongly believe Beyoncé is unaware of this and will make it right once she is.
We, the undersigned, demand a refund for our inflated ticket prices and a more equitable exchange policy that puts loyal Beyhive fans first. We want this resolved before her tour starts!
