Nubert (A4747339)  is being failed by Maricopa County Animal Care and Control. He has been at the shelter for about a month and a half and what started out as possible allergies has evolved into open wounds with no plan in place to treat this. 

Repeated requests by volunteers and staff have gone unanswered. Many individuals or non-profits would be willing to take him to a vet outside of the shelter however that is not allowed. He won't be eligible for foster because the shelter doesn't want to have responsibility for medical cases. 

This is not an isolated incident. Sick dogs who are getting minimal or no treatment are a common occurrence. The shelter is short 4 veterinarians due to the highly toxic clinic environment and the recent resignation of two vets. 

Although the leadership will claim that their problems are due to the negative "smear campaign" that they are dealing with, these problems existed long before this petition was published. We are just taking our concerns to the public in hopes that the pressure will force them to change. 

We need to continue to send them the message that we will not back down until they make an honest, transparent, and concerted effort to improve conditions for the animals in their charge. 

Please continue to share the petition, especially with those in your circle who may have connections to decision-makers, the media, or donors.
