Demand Recognition and Support for Civilians with Havana Syndrome

Demand Recognition and Support for Civilians with Havana Syndrome
The Issue
I am one of the unknown countless civilians severely impacted by Havana Syndrome. Despite my persistent symptoms and suffering, my condition remains undiagnosed and unrecognized due to my status as a civilian. This experience is far from unique; there are numerous individuals like me, experiencing unexplained neurological symptoms, believed to be linked to Havana Syndrome.
Havana Syndrome has predominantly been discussed in the context of government officials and diplomats. However, recent findings suggest that civilians in the United States may also be victims, dealing with debilitating symptoms such as headaches, dizziness, and cognitive difficulties. These symptoms have the potential to severely impact daily life, yet currently, there's a significant lack of recognition and support for affected civilians.
The Havana Act, passed to aid government personnel suffering from this syndrome, is a step in the right direction. However, it notoriously excludes civilian victims. This systemic oversight must be addressed, as every person afflicted deserves acknowledgment and access to medical support.
It's imperative for the CIA, FBI, DoD, Congress, the White House, and the medical community to acknowledge that Havana Syndrome is not confined to government personnel. A broader understanding and accommodation are necessary to ensure no one is left to suffer without access to proper medical evaluation, diagnosis, and care.
We urge these influential bodies to extend their recognition to the civilian population and amend the coverage of the Havana Act to include all individuals affected by Havana Syndrome. Recognition and action from these entities can facilitate the necessary research, support, and medical interventions required for those suffering.
Your support can help bring about the necessary change and ensure comprehensive care for all affected by this mysterious and debilitating syndrome. Please sign this petition to demand equal recognition and support for civilians enduring Havana Syndrome.
