We, the undersigned, call on all Digital Service Providers (DSPs), such as Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Amazon Music, and others, to provide immediate, free, and unrestricted access to comprehensive streaming data via a simple, user-friendly interface within their platforms, as well as detailed financial transactions between DSPs and music distributors. This public accessibility is crucial for fostering a transparent, fair, and accountable digital music industry.

The Issue:
Currently, the data concerning music streaming, which can significantly affect artists' careers and earnings, is not readily accessible to artists or the general public. This lack of transparency can obscure issues like streaming manipulation and unfair treatment, particularly affecting smaller or independent artists. Additionally, artists and the general public lack visibility into the critical financial transactions between DSPs and distributors, raising concerns about potential conflicts of interest and unfair practices.

Our Demands:
Instant Access Button: A clearly labeled feature within the app or on the website that anyone can click to view real-time data for any track or artist.
Comprehensive Data Display: This tool should provide total and unique listeners at any given moment, anonymized user identification to track user engagement while maintaining privacy, status of each stream (free or premium), metrics on playlist adds, saves, follows, geographic location of each stream, social media signals, link shares, and embeds.
No Fees: Access to this data must be free of charge, ensuring that all stakeholders, from fans to industry analysts, can investigate and analyze streaming trends.
User-Friendly Interface: The interface for accessing this data should be straightforward, making it easy for anyone, regardless of technical expertise, to navigate and understand.
Transparency in Financial Transactions:
Detailed disclosures on the amounts paid by DSPs to each distributor.
Clear reporting on how these funds are subsequently divided among artists represented by these distributors.
Public access to any agreements or contracts between DSPs and distributors that could affect how revenues are shared.
