Demand PTV establish a Bus Service from Point Cook to Aquapulse & Pacific Werribee Plaza
The issue
As residents of Point Cook, the absence of direct public transport links to the key community hubs of Aquapulse and Pacific Werribee Plaza is a serious, ongoing issue. The lack of transit options makes it difficult for families to access their nearest public swimming venue, denies shoppers the convenience of larger department stores and forces dozens of vulnerable children to take three separate public transport options (bus-train-bus) to schools such as Suzanne Cory High School, Heathdale Christian College and others.
Despite being a bustling residential area, home to approximately 60,000 residents (source: Australian Bureau of Statistics, 2016), Point Cook currently lacks direct public transport access to Aquapulse and Pacific Werribee Plaza increasing reliance on private vehicles for commuting, leading to increased traffic congestion and pollution within our community.
Therefore, this petition calls on Mr. Mathew Hilakari, Member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly, and Public Transport Victoria (PTV) to recognize the need for implementing a direct bus service from the main shopping districts of Point Cook (Stocklands, Sanctuary Lakes, Saltwater and Featherbrook) to Aquapulse and Pacific Werribee Plaza at Werribee via Suzanne Cory School, Werribee Hospital and Heathdale Christian College.
It is essential for PTV to lay out a concrete action plan detailing steps, timelines, and resources dedicated to implementing this direct bus service.
We urge all Point Cook residents to join this cause and sign this petition to add your voice for equitable access to public transportation services. Together, we can create meaningful change in our community. Please sign the petition.
