For myself, a concerned citizen, this plea emerged from a deeply personal perspective. If an ordinary individual like me were to engage in actions similar to those alleged of President Trump, wouldn't our right to run for public office be denied? Why should he be treated any differently?

Our societal structure is based on the slogan "no one is above the law," and that should apply uniformly to all citizens, including those in the highest offices.

Allegations of wrongdoing against President Trump have been plentiful and serious, from his impeachment for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress by the House of Representatives in 2019 to allegations of financial frauds currently under investigation in New York. This raises profound questions about the integrity and suitability of a president who is supposed to uphold the law, not break it.

We can and must demand better from our leaders. For the sake of justice, fairness, and the moral integrity of our democratic system, we call for President Trump to resign and withdraw from the future election race.
