Our family courts hold immense power, making decisions that significantly affect families' lives. However, the prevailing practices in Oklahoma's family courts have been subject to increasing criticism for unfairness and bias. A fair and balanced family court system is essential to guaranteeing children's best interests and parents' rights are upheld.

In Oklahoma, legal outcomes could be gravely modified by biases, subjective decisions and undue influences. Some reports suggest that women win custody about 85% of the time nationwide, further pressing the urgency of this issue (Source: Census Bureau reports of 2013). The lack of obligatory legal representation for low-income individuals, especially in parental rights termination cases, further opposes the concept of a fair trial.

These unbalanced outcomes run counter to the very principles our judicial system proclaims. Therefore, we call on the Oklahoma State Legislature to take definitive action.
