Nautilus Point Apartment Complex is attempting to alter the terms of existing leases mid-tenure by adding a $25 monthly parking charge when we have already paid for parking and been guaranteed a space. This is not only potentially illegal but is also unethical and borders on landlord harassment. Tenants at Nautilus Point have entered into lease agreements in good faith, and these unilateral changes infringe upon their rights. Many states including ours (Annapolis, Maryland), protect tenants from modifications to a lease agreement during its term, backing the illegality of such an action (source: State Tenant-Landlord Laws). We, the concerned residents and supporters, call on Nautilus Point to revoke this new charge immediately abiding by local tenant-landlord laws.
