Demand MP Adam Chambers respect Indigenous Rights or Resign

Demand MP Adam Chambers respect Indigenous Rights or Resign
The Issue
As an Indigenous National, my inherent rights, along with the rights of my children and future generations, are under attack due to the Liberal Governments 'Free Trade and Labour Mobility in Canada Act and the Building Canada Act' aka 'One Canadian Economy Act.' This legislation undermines the sovereignty of Indigenous Nations, disregarding our sacred ties to the land and our right to make decisions about its use.
The Liberal 'One Canadian Economy Act' has disrupted the balance between economic development and the stewardship responsibilities that Indigenous communities have upheld for generations. This act facilitates arbitrary decisions regarding land use, resource extraction, and environmental management without proper consultation with Indigenous peoples, whose lives and culture are directly affected.
Simcoe North Conservative MP Adam Chambers has the political power and responsibility to take a stand for justice and reconciliation. We call on him to introduce a Bill to repeal this harmful act, as a step towards respecting Indigenous Nations' Internationally and Constitutionally protected inherent rights. If MP Chambers cannot support the repeal, we demand that he resign as MP as his current stance disrespects not only Indigenous peoples but also undermines the Rule of Law and trust in political leadership dedicated to equitable governance.
Simcoe North, Chambers' riding is within the Chippewa Tri Council Territory of Upper Canada Treaties, Penetanguishene Purchase #5, Lake Simcoe Purchase #16, and Nottawasaga Purchase #18 a total of 250,000 acres. These Treaties have are an outstanding historical grievance in which MP Chambers is in a conflict of interest by her vote to support the enacting of this legislation.
Research from various Indigenous advocacy organizations, highlights that impactful economic policies must be built on a foundation of mutual respect and collaboration. Policies like the 'One Canadian Economy Act' perpetrate a historical pattern of neglect, which disregards indigenous voices and rights.
This petition urges supporters to stand in solidarity with Indigenous communities by demanding legislative action that honors our rights and protects our future. Sign the petition to show your support for the recognition of Indigenous sovereignty and to press for the repeal of the Federal Governments 'the Free Trade and Labour Mobility in Canada Act and the Building Canada Act.' Let us push for changes that align economic development with the respect due to the land's original caretakers.
