Demand Los Angeles Allocate Funds for High-Volume/Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Clinics

Demand Los Angeles Allocate Funds for High-Volume/Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Clinics
The Issue
I am petitioning this as someone deeply immersed for over a decade in animal rescue, having witnessed firsthand the tragedy of animal overpopulation on the streets of Los Angeles. Through the non-profit rescue I operate, thousands of lives have been saved, but sadly, this represents only a tiny fraction of the animals left on our streets. Our crisis is overpopulation and the solution lies in making accessible and affordable spay/neuter services widely available.
Los Angeles, like many major cities, is grappling with an unwanted animal population problem. According to research from the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), an average of 6.5 million animals enter U.S. animal shelters nationwide every year. Demanding the City of Los Angeles allocate more funding to open ten high-volume/low-cost spay/neuter clinics is not just a compassionate choice, it's a common sense one — it is cost-effective in the long run, it eases the pressure on shelters, and it tackles the root cause of the problem.
Therefore, it is time for the City of Los Angeles to step up and take more effective measures to combat animal overpopulation. I am urging you to help reduce the number of unwanted animals wandering our streets, endangered and forgotten by supporting this petition. Together, let's call on our local representatives to allocate funds towards the opening of ten more high-volume/low-cost spay/neuter clinics in our city. Thank you for joining this crucial cause.
