The Issue

The leadership at Metrolink has let us down. I have been relying on Metrolink's services to travel from Union Station to San Bernardino and Orange counties. However, their recent actions have caused severe disruptions in my life and the lives of other riders who depend on their services. Critical rail lines and weekend services have been cut, isolating communities that depend on public transportation. This is not just an inconvenience—it's a crisis.

Under the current management, Metrolink has not only mismanaged funds and become embroiled in at least five lawsuits, including one that addresses unsafe operations as reported by the LA Times. Such negligence endangers the safety and accessibility of public transit, which countless individuals depend on for their daily commutes. While we face these cuts and allegations, the management at Metrolink continues without accountability, and many conductors and engineers that were hired in 2025 and 2026 are in danger to lose their jobs because of management decision on costs.

Metrolink's failure not only affects personal and professional lives but also harms California's broader environmental and economic goals. Public transportation is a critical component in reducing our carbon footprint and easing congestion on our roads. It’s time for the leadership to change so we can restore confidence and efficiency in Metrolink’s services.

I urge you to join me in demanding the resignation of Metrolink's CEO (Daren Kettle) and top management. We must appoint leaders who prioritize safety, financial responsibility, and service reliability for the benefit of all. Let's unite our voices to push for a leadership that aligns with community needs and retains the integrity of public transport in Southern California.

Please sign this petition to advocate for the necessary change at Metrolink and ensure that our transportation system meets the highest standards for all riders.
