As someone who drives around Kent frequently, I've seen firsthand the extended delays and frustrations caused by questionable traffic management interventions. Every day, I and many others are inconvenienced by minimal activity at designated Traffic Management sites, leading to wasted time, added fuel consumption, and unnecessary pollution in our beautiful county. Too often, it is blatantly clear that the traffic interventions are excessive, unneeded, or left unresolved for extended periods of time.

For instance, the M25 consistently has 20 miles of restrictions for emergency work that rarely seems to be in progress. It's not only disruptive but also disproportionate to the actual amount of work being carried out. Major routes should be prioritized, completed as swiftly as possible, and cause minimal inconvenience to the public.

I'm petitioning Kent County Council Traffic Management to review and revise their traffic management strategies. The goal is to chart out interventions that create a balance—ensuring road safety and infrastructure upkeep, while also minimizing disruption to road users.
