My partner has been convicted of grievous bodily harm (GBH) against Polish individuals who poured petrol outside our house, both in the front and back. These individuals were charged with intent to endanger life but received only a 2-year suspended sentence. In stark contrast, my partner was handed a 5-year sentence for GBH, despite the lack of any evidence of an attack. This sentence is not only disproportionate but unjust, and we believe it reflects a grave miscarriage of justice that needs immediate attention.

Sunderland, a community known for its fairness and inclusivity, cannot stand by while such an injustice occurs. With no concrete evidence linking my partner to any violent actions, it is clear that the legal system has been unduly harsh in his case. The disparity in sentencing between my partner and the individuals who endangered our lives is alarming and raises questions about fairness and equality in our judicial proceedings.

We are calling upon the courts and relevant authorities to review my partner's case thoroughly. There needs to be a re-evaluation of the evidence—or lack thereof—and a reconsideration of the punitive measures imposed. The decision can and should be rectified to reflect a fair and just treatment under the law.

This fight is not just about my partner; it is about ensuring that the legal system treats everyone with equality and justice, regardless of background or the complexities of the situation. We need your support to bring attention to this miscarriage of justice and to push for a fair re-evaluation of his sentence.

Please join us in our fight for justice by signing this petition. Together, we can demand change and work towards a more just and equitable legal system for all in Sunderland.
