The issue

We are writing this petition as people who deeply care about pigs, these amazing animals that are often misunderstood and mistreated. Recently, an incident occurred that has left us, a family, and many others in our community shocked and heartbroken - a pet pig was shot by a police officer.

This is not just about one pig; it's about the broader issue of pigs being treated as the intelligent, sentient animals they are. They are wonderful companions. They deserve respect, love, and protection under the law.

The shooting of this innocent pet pig raises serious questions about how police officers are trained to handle encounters with animals. It is crucial that we demand accountability for this tragic incident to ensure it does not happen again in the future.

We call on The Queensland Police Force officials to lay charges against the officer involved in this unjust shooting. We also urge them to review their policies regarding interactions between law enforcement officers and animals, ensuring they include appropriate training on dealing with pets, and all other animals.

Please sign this petition if you believe in justice for all creatures big or small. Your signature can help give voice to those who cannot speak for themselves like our beloved pigs.

Bundy's story below.

Bundy was the adored pet of the Ives family. He had been with them from a tiny weeks' old piglet until he was 8. His life was tragically taken and his family left shattered after he was shot in front of them.

Bundy was being transported to a new home in a borrowed float, as his family needed to move and sadly couldn't take their two pet pigs with them. The side door of the float was faulty and Bundy fell from the float, suffering minor injuries.

Some time later a vehicle accident involving the parked float and a semi trailer happened and the police were called. Bundy did not cause the accident between the vehicles. Bundy was led by police over 2 lots of train tracks and shot, twice, in front of his family members. He had not been injured badly and did not require euthanasia. The incident happened so close to home they were going to walk him back.

He was shot and killed for no reason. The police were NEVER given permission to shoot Bundy.

Bundy' best friend Tazy is safe and well..

Two local news outlets have run stories on Bundy. Please help us get justice for Bundy and his family.
