On the afternoon of June 11, 2026, in New Glasgow, NS, our lives were turned upside down when three individuals, notorious for their criminal activities in our community, brazenly stole our car and, heartbreakingly, our beloved dog, Tim, from a crowded parking lot. We were devastated and horrified not knowing what they would do with our Tim.

These individuals, known for their repeated offenses, not only violated our trust but also endangered the safety and security of our community. Upon recovery of our car, we discovered a disturbing collection—a break and enter kit and a key ring filled with stolen keys, remnants of their previous crimes. This evidence demonstrates their intent to continue wreaking havoc and causing distress in the lives of innocent community members.

As residents of New Glasgow, our compassion for our community compels us to demand serious repercussions for the actions of these criminals. It is imperative that the justice system recognizes the severity of this crime (and their previous crimes) and the trauma it has inflicted upon us and our town. By delivering the maximum jail sentence permissible by law, a strong message is sent to those who think they can operate above the law, instilling faith in our community that justice will prevail.

The theft of a cherished family member—a pet—paired with the robbery of our property, cannot go unpunished or be treated lightly. We urge the presiding judge to consider the evidence of their criminal record and the tangible fear and violation felt by our community, and to deliver an appropriate sentence that reflects the gravity of their actions.
