Recently, a helpless elephant seal pup was viciously stabbed multiple times in a secluded cove near the Proposal Rock Condominiums in Neskowin, Oregon. This horrifying act of cruelty left the young seal with severe injuries, though miraculously it survived. Now, it is up to us to demand swift and full justice.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Office of Law Enforcement is urgently seeking the public’s help to identify the person responsible for this despicable crime, which is a direct violation of the Marine Mammal Protection Act. NOAA has released a detailed description and sketch of the suspect, along with information about a suspicious van seen in the area that same night.

This was not a tragic accident or a reckless moment, it was a deliberate, targeted attack on a defenseless marine mammal.

We cannot allow such cruelty to go unpunished. The individual who committed this act must be identified, apprehended, and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. If they are not stopped, there is no telling what harm they might do next.

We urge NOAA, local authorities, and federal investigators to devote all necessary resources to solving this case. We call on the public to stay alert, share the suspect's description, and come forward with any information that could help bring this person to justice.
