The Issue

Over the past five weeks, at least 8 cats in South King County, Washington have been found dead under deeply disturbing circumstances.

Residents in Kent and Auburn say the injuries do not look like animal attacks — they look intentional. One family's cat, Andy, disappeared and was later found in their own backyard. A local rescue organization, Hugs Cat Sanctuary, says a single Facebook post brought a flood of similar stories from neighbors who had been suffering in silence.

King County Regional Animal Services and the Kent Police Department have confirmed they are investigating. But so far, officials have offered no details, no timeline, and no public statement on whether these incidents are connected or who may be responsible.

Animal cruelty is not a minor offense. Research has long linked deliberate harm to animals with escalating violence toward people. Whoever is doing this poses a danger to the entire community — and they need to be found and prosecuted.

The families who lost their pets deserve justice. The community deserves answers. Sign this petition to demand that King County investigators treat this as the serious criminal matter it is, pursue every lead, and publicly commit to charging those responsible to the fullest extent of the law.
